Bob McGinnis

BOB Mc.ginnis, p.e., spec

President and CEO

Bob founded the consulting firm that is now Bear Creek Engineering in 1990, having held engineering or management positions with Shell Oil, Superior Oil, Texas Oil & Gas, and smaller independents. He is recognized as an expert in petroleum engineering by several courts and regulatory agencies. He chaired SPE's society-wide Well Completions and Computer Applications committees, authored several technical papers, and has been published in the Journal of Petroleum Technology and American Oil & Gas Reporter. Bob received his engineering degree from Louisiana Tech University in 1978.

Jim Strain

JIM STRAIN, P.E.

Vice President

Jim joined Bear Creek in 2007 after 28 years with Halliburton in technical, management, and sales positions. He is known throughout the industry for his knowledge and experience in hydraulic fracturing, having designed approximately 10,000 frac jobs and supervised approximately 2,500 frac jobs. Jim served on SPE’s society-wide Well Stimulation committee. He received his engineering degree from the University of Tennessee in 1979.
